Some background: The modern holiday of Mother's Day was first celebrated in 1908, when Anna Jarvis held a memorial for her mother in Grafton, West Virginia. She then began a campaign to make "Mother's Day" a recognized holiday in the United States. Although she was successful in 1914, she was already disappointed with its commercialization by the 1920s. Jarvis' holiday was adopted by other countries and it is now celebrated all over the world. In this tradition, each person offers a gift, card, or remembrance toward their mothers, grandmothers, and/ or maternal figure on mother's day. Have a great day moms, you've earned it. We have two important holidays this month that I hold dear, especially after the Suwa Jem invasion. Earth Day - April 22nd Arbor Day - April 26th To celebrate these holidays I'd like to offer two contests. Contest One: Suwa Jem Hunt Beginning on Friday April 12th and ending on Friday April 19th. Rules 1. You *must* petition that you are joining the contest otherwise you are not a participant. {Staff may participate but they have to give up some of their powers so that the contest is fair} 2. The person with the most Suwa Jem kills in the 8 days will get a Personal custom mount. 3. This is based on kills gained during the 8 days and not on the ending number of kills. {Example Miche has 434 kills and Erica 136 kills.. Erica gains 12 kills and Miche gains 2. Erica would win even though her ending total is 148 and Miche's is 436.) Contest Two: Staff Spring Titles Beginning on Thursday April 4th and ending on Saturday April 6th Rules 1.
